is a graduate of the Faculty of Law of the Pan European University in Bratislava, where he took his degree in law in 2013 and the title of doctor of law (JUDr.) a year later. Between 2018 and 2022 he was an external doctoral candidate in security studies at the Academy of the Police Force in Bratislava; he defended a thesis on alternative sanctions. He began taking an active part in teaching while still a student, in constitutional law and criminal law. From 2014 he worked in public administration as a state counsellor in the ministries of labour, social affairs and family, of agriculture and rural development, of the interior, and of investment, regional development and informatisation, and later as an assistant professor at the Academy of the Police Force in Bratislava. His professional and scholarly work centres on substantive criminal law and criminology, in particular the sentencing of juveniles, serial and mass crime, protective measures and alternative sanctions. He has authored or co-authored numerous studies, articles, reviews and annotations published in the professional press in Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Switzerland and Poland.
