1. Overall development
Recorded crime in Slovakia has been falling over the long term, but in 2025 the rate of decline slowed. The police recorded 58,420 offences, a year on year decrease of 1.8 %.

2. The structure of crime
The most pronounced trend is the continuing growth of cybercrime, whose share of total crime reached 14 %. Property crime, by contrast, is falling, which matches the wider European picture.

3. Conclusion
The changing structure of crime places new demands on criminal policy. The analysis recommends strengthening the capacity to detect cybercrime and developing prevention programmes aimed at the digital safety of older people.
